After filling up at the servo today I had the misfortune to find that my car (VR6) was leaking a ****load of fuel from what seemed like the tank. I hadn't even turned the car on it just seemed to leak out somehow. It looked like a good litre or so came out. It eventually stopped so I figured there must be a problem somewhere between the fuel filler neck and the fuel tank. I unscrewed the fuel pump cover thing and everything in there is dry. My mechanic said something about the overflow hoses or something like that might have given up. It's definitely coming from the top of the tank somewhere, if anyone has any ideas what might have screwed up in there please let me know. It seems like the fuel tank will have to be dropped and I just hope its not some integral part of the fuel tank itself so I won't need a whole new fuel tank. Any help?
Thanks in advance.
