Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Mud flaps never appealed to me before on the subject of appearance, but I must say with the textured rear bumper valence, it actually looks alright!

I have had my flap on for many years now...
They work really well in stopping grime on the sides of the car.
Note#1
going over speed hump too fast and you will scrape the front flaps.
Note#2
If your Mk3 is lowered, then I suggest you cut a strip off the bottom of the front flaps upto the bottom of the VW logo... you will still scrape going over humps etc... you will also have less drag as you cut off the bottom lip that faces forward that will cup air and water when it is raining.
Worst thing is catching them on the speed hump rebound and landing the flaps on the top of the speed hump\( O ) o\====(\X/)=TDI=/o ( O )/ 2011 Jetta Mk5 125TDI - Squidly
