Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

This should now stop this; grease sprayed onto the body.

Mud flaps never appealed to me before on the subject of appearance, but I must say with the textured rear bumper valence, it actually looks alright!
      Past: Mk3 Golf 2L 8V, Audi 8L A3T.
      Present: Mk3 Golf variant.

I love the rear mudflaps! You've sone a fantastic fitting job. The white VW symbol stands out and looks good. Hmmm..... Might look ok on mine?

How much was it for just the rears Green T4?

        Cheers!

I paid $80-85 for front & rear, so, roughly half each. The rears do stick out a bit (like Elephant ears), but that means they should work better.

Just watch when reverse parking... I found on mine they were pretty easy to scrape on kerbs, my ex did a great job roughening up the edges. Amazing VW still sells these, I had a set like this on my GL in '96.

I have had my flap on for many years now...

They work really well in stopping grime on the sides of the car.

                Note#1
going over speed hump too fast and you will scrape the front flaps.

                Note#2
If your Mk3 is lowered, then I suggest you cut a strip off the bottom of the front flaps upto the bottom of the VW logo... you will still scrape going over humps etc... you will also have less drag as you cut off the bottom lip that faces forward that will cup air and water when it is raining.

Worst thing is catching them on the speed hump rebound and landing the flaps on the top of the speed hump
