  • Bypassing the throttle body

Hey guys just a quick question does bypassing the throttle body cooling system help the intake temperature in the intake manifold and is it worth it.

    any views would be helpful....

    Thanks

AFAIK the system is there to HEAT UP the intake in very cold climates, so not an issue at all in most of Australia. The only potential down side would be that however small, the throttle body is acting as a heat sync and cooling the system.

I have often thought about removing it, but just never bothered since doing nothing is easier

What I WOULD like to do is get an oil cooler which would be of much benefit to the hot running VR6 engine.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

How much does an oil cooler lower your engine temps? Does it make your coolant temp lower also? Sorry for the hijack

Lowered mt oil temp probably 15 degrees on average. Water temp is slower to heat as a result yes.
