both ATE & DBA make slotted rotors for our VR6. You can get DBA from supercheap auto, although they will have to order it in.

Also, be very, very specific what year your car is. As VR6's post-1996 have larger rotors. Dont want the wrong size!

Late VRs have 288 by 25mm discs, early ones are 280 by 22mm

If you go to the DBA website it has an online catalogue so you can look up the relevant part number discs you need.

Although the description of the models listed confuses me.

DBA is a royal rip off, fair enough it's aussie made but RBA (chinese made) make a good slotted rotor for a damn cheap price. They also make slotted set for the rears. A mate who runs "better brakes" has not had a single call back regarding any of the RBA products, he swears by them.

I'd recommend them highly, along with the EBC greenstuff pads up front and a pair of bendix in the rear, they are still very grabby and create very little dust.

Also, if you want anything priced well, stay well clear of autobarn. They quoted me $360 per slotted rotor {DBA} for the VR6. My RBA's cost me $235 for the front pair alone

Does slotting and drilling really make any difference? Other than reducing surface area that is

I did have issues with EBC GreenStuff pads! i dont think they like stock rotors much and in my case caused frequent warping. brake dust is a pain, i do agree. but at least you know your pads are working with the rotors

It reduces brake fade due to gases that build up between the pad and disc when the going gets tough.

wouldn't it also slightly reduce rotating/unsprung mass?

i bought some cross drilled rotors and mintex pads from overseas but in hindsight i'd probably pay the extra few quid to have them straight away from local suppliers/distributors. however, the is a muuuuuch larger variety outside of australia.
