So my dub's battery has died a rather sudden death. I can barely unlock the doors! So I need a newie. What "size" do I need? Any brand recommendations?

Varta is what I replaced mine with. I've only had it for about 6 months but it has held its own so far. Maybe someone else has had a longer experience?
The battery I have in my VR has been there since I bought it and mate let me tell you it's been through heaps! My friends love my soundsystem, especially when the rest of the car is off...I'll let you know what it is tomorrow.
I say don't buy anything too brand-specific, cos that'll be a waste of monies. There'll be awesome batteries out there without a big price cos of brand

I was looking at the Optima Redtop but its not really worth it in my opinion anyway. After all, its only being used to start the car and possibly play music. I'm after a new battery as well but the Optima is just too expensive at about $340?? A Century type battery would do fine I reckon.
I bought a Bosch one for our Audi there for under $200. You get a year long no quibble warranty, simply take it back and they`ll give you another.
Their bulk purchasing power can work for you.
Like the Hawk, I also went as many cold cranking amps as possible.

I had to replace mine recently for my VR6, I ended up paying $95 for a bosch 500CA one for ASV Villawood, which was new. This battery was also for sale in Repco/Supercheap/Autobarn and everywhere else for $180-$190, go figure
