Although the GL is perfect, well as perfect as a 10 yo golf can be...

Steering wheel off centre
Steering wheel grinds against cowl
Gutless
Mismatched wheel centres
Only a 2 seater by the time we've put the kayak in it
Falls over when you come to a corner
Engine wobbles back and forth
No power
Light grey fabric seats don't work in a beach car
Did I mention that it's slow?

hehehe these lists are amazing! Here's mine

-weird metal 'flickering' noise from front-right wheel. sounds like a small metal object in a washing machine
-heater core but MEH
-passenger window reg
-possible leads/coilpack failure

Whats still wrong with my car

1. Heater Core
2. Left rear window reg - has a stick inside holding the window up
3. Right rear window reg
4. No speedo/tacho - cluster needs replacing/repair
5. Front Drivers side indicator lense cracked
6. Bonnet paint heat damaged from previous warped head
7. Oil breather pipe bodgey repair job - needs replacing - thanks mike
8. front end creaks when turning hard - so i dont turn too hard
9. Paint scrached like a bastard all over
10. Windows still not tinted - hotter than a snakes ass inside
11. Needs lowering so it doesnt look like a bloody 4WD
12. Rattle noise under low speed acceleration ??
13. Rear washer nozzle snapped off from parking too close to the garage door
14. Aircon needs re-gassing
15. Valve ticking noise since head replaced - thanks again mike

All this crap but I still love it muchly and wouldn't trade it for anything else .... its a long term project

Just rolled over 170,000 last weekend so im happy its still moving

stereo sounds awful
drivers side door trim loose
car alarm has developed a mind of its own
rough/missing on idle regardless of engine temp
leather worn out on both front seats
cruise control busted
drivers side washer jet shoots over car (can never seem to get it right)
drivers heated seat doesnt work (meh)
varying specks of rust appearing in spots
loads of stone chips on bonnet

Thats all I can think of at the moment. Just gone past 245,xxx km too, not bad!

Hmm theres a few parts missing from my car apart from the paint is really shiny

While there are a few little [redundant] bits missing (like the idle stabiliser valve), my heater core is new as is the AC compressor, all the windows work, the cruise control works...

um... pretty much everything but the ABS reading "outside normal limits" in a VAG-COM scan. So I'm pretty good

yea my heatercore is bypassed too..
*got sum gremlins in hte dash making the e-brake light flicker on and off when i accel.
*Box seems loose..maybe jus needs a service?
*I think i ran over a cat coz i got these strange claw marks up the bonnet
*stereo sounds as bad as a fart gone wrong
*shocks and springs - front sits high, back tyres rub on the guards...looks like sssshhhhh it!
