Just wondering has anyone tried or been successful in finding hubs with the studs on the hub instead of just having the threaded holes there??

You don't need to change hubs!
You can do a "stud" conversion, and screw in studs to the threaded holes in the hub, and have the studs poking out, and use nuts to lock your wheels on.
For example, check out ecstuning.com, enter your vw>mk3>vr6 details, then go to Suspension, and down the bottom you'll see Wheel Bolts - Stud Conversions - Lug Nuts. You're going to want the stud coversion thingo...

I had that exact same thing done when I had my adapters. Made attaching the wheel easier but that was about it
