Just had a quick look for the tow point so I can illegally tow it up the road to my mechanic but couldn't see it. Am I blind? Any help greatly appreciated,
Thanks
Mike
The front one is behing the reflective cap between the indicator and the fog light (if you have one) on the drivers side. There is a screw in hook that should be with the car somewhere (although I don't have mine).
The rear tow point is behind a cover, again the drivers side, in the lower black plastic bumper bit.
I'm not at home or I could whip up a quick photoshop with an arrow and upload it for you
If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.
For anyone else reading might as well let you know in case you didn't already (I didn't!) NRMA apparently don't include free tow service for lowered or even modified cars. Just had the towie come out (who didn't seem like he wanted to be there). 5 secs in, sorry mate it's lowered, can't help you. NRMA policy. F@ckers! Anyone else aware of this?

Guess I'm cancelling my membership then.
Cheers,

Geez thats harsh, my golf is lowered 1.5 inches all round and the tow truck driver didn't care, I just had to take the front lip off and put the tow bolts into the towing eyes. Maybe next time take off the front lip so its not so obvious.
NRMA are a bunch of ****s. You're lucky the towie even came out for you at all. Mine left me for dead after calling up and explaining my situation. There's too much small print on their contract/terms and conditions.
Between Matt and his contacts I'm sure I could get towed if I really needed to... and thats if you don't park it and flat tow it in the wee small hours `

From what Ive been told by quite a few tow truck drivers, your not supposed to tow the car onto a trailer/truck using the eye hook you screw in on the front, only there for flat towing, but they could be wrong ??? They had to hook the strap around my control arm or something else under the car with my lip off to get it on the damn truck when I blew the box!

Last year, I towed mine about 20kms, the tow hook eye thing flew off once and that wasnt much fun....I now realise it is a stupid idea to have done this
I wouldnt be towing it from the tow hook for very long at all.
and about NRMA, I will have to think about renewing my membership if they wont touch lowered/modified cars.

If they refused to tow your car I would be asking for a refund, but I'm sure they would be saying "you should have read the T&C's".
For 99% of their customers it's not a relevant questions, but it would be nice if it was more widely known... This is one of those things that should be known at least in the car clubs, wonder how long they have had this "rule".
It probably comes from stupid low cars that can't get onto the truck without damage which has been taken too far. Pull the lip off and claim it's stock
