  • My mk2 "The Kettle"

    Hi guys,

I've had my mk2 for a couple of years. Never bothered posting here as not much has been done to it. I'll be making a few changes soon so thought I'd share it.
So far it's a standard 1.8 litre 8 valve digifant, JOM coilovers, a front strut brace and Borbet Type A wheels.

Here's the day I bought it.

Here's how it looks at the moment.

Haven't got it on yet. I want to paint the car first, then the heckblende will go on.

Going to attempt to put this Porsche 928 steering wheel on tomorrow. Need to remove the steering column spline adapter first.

Looks sweet, have you got a puller? Heard the adaptor can be a barstard.

I've got a bearing puller. Might spray the spline with wd40 before I start. Didn't get a chance to do it today. Hopefully this week I'll get the new steering wheel on.

Tried to put on the 928 wheel last night but realised that the horn contact was missing. Found one at a Porsche wrecker. Hopefully will have the wheel in soon.

Next project is to finally put in the ragtop I scored from a Polo Open Air. Hopefully I'll have it in by next week. Will take a time lapse video for you all.

Finally installed the Porsche 944 steering wheel. I originally put on the 928 wheel but the splines didn't match.
Had to take off the spline adapter with a bearing puller and the 944 wheel bolted straight on.
