Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Finally decided to wire up the motor for the sunroof. First step was to find a location for the switch.
Switch was too small for the opening so had to cut a blank and slide the switch in. Looks like a factory option. Going to run the wiring tonight. Will post a video of it hopefully working.

Finally painted the white bumper today. Now it matches the car.

I got the Hella covers from my work. I had to trim them down a little to make them fit.

I've had a fuel leak for a little while now. If the car is driven daily it won't leak but will start leaking if sitting for more than a week. Got under the car last night and found that the car still had the original fuel hoses. One was a little crusty so replaced it with new hose. So far so good.

                      Man top job mate!

Did you every have any trouble trying to match the silver paint? I want to do a few repairs on a couple of marks I have and am a bit worried that repainting will be more trouble then its worth...

Didn't have any problems with the colour. You'll find the colour code inside the back panel of the car.

Haven't had a chance to do much to the car lately except get some parts. I've picked up complete spare interior, wheels (ROH Casino) and a Jetta grill and lights. Can't wait to fit them.

I've had a power steering fluid leak for quite a while now and thought it was coming from the hose. Turns out that the reservoir had a crack.
