020 Strength for more power/torque

Hey guys thought id open this as im toying with keeping the 020 with my conversion albeit I have a TDI 02A. Itl make the conversion so much easier keeping it . Apart from the obvious that I know about the 020, do anyone have any links for sites that sell upgrade parts for the 020? Ive personally seen these boxes take 250hp but do end sad, and seeing as im gojng straight with a JBS04 on this I want to do the box with Diff. Its a few months away so seeing whats out there. Worst case ill do the TDi 02A box with diff and mod for the cables. no dramas but be great to hear if you run 020.

A lot is going to depend on how you drive. A long time ago a mate ran a Trimatic behind a 308 stroked to 360. Everyone said it wouldn't work because a standard Trimatic is a weak gearbox but he never hammered it off the line. He just made sure the car was moving before he put his foot down. That way the gears were always engaged, not smashing into each other.

I love the TD 020 from the 1994 Golf 3 awesome ratios for a petrol engine and strong.
I had one for 3 years then it popped in a weekend!
I like the 020 setup, no mods for the shifter or clutch cable.
Keeps the car standard looking.

Obviously would depend how much you want to spend.

If looking at the cheap end, just remove the rivets and install a bolt kit & shims, to get a poor mans LSD. Unless you can get a real LSD then do that and through the bolt kit through it.

I've been looking into "using" the 020(s) I have in my 1.8T build soon. I still am asking the same question though, will my 020 be ok.. I'm thinking yes.
