Did you change the pushrod seal and bearing in the centre of the input shaft also, I have seen the pushrod loose in the bearing up to about 1.5 mm, makes the seal leak.

        It's alive!!!
Just a update, finally got time to finish putting it all back in again, again, again. All seams great, a little noise from the gearbox but only just notice it, come to thing of it, I don't remember when it didn't have a noise, may just be normal.
Anyway given it a basic tune , not a gas analyser tune, seams pretty good.
More things to do, but when isn't there things to do?
Mk3 front suspension mounts are next I think!

Any cheers for putting up with my foes, and thanks for the advise's's,s

            Will do!
Mine is the only one I've driven or even been in so would be interesting to compare... See if mine is how it should be...

Is yours smooth to drive? Quiet? Lots of power? Brakes well?

If you answerd yes to any of these questions then it isn't how it should be.

Good to hear! Smooth.. Bit rough, not much power but nice torque, brakes... Spongy and stops but some time I don't think it will!

But the ad news for the day, darn thing still cuts out once the fan cooling fax has cycled a few times, about 20 min driving. But that's a diffrent thread
