Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I have been trying to look for a one stop shop to get parts for my beloved Golf and it seems the net is not the place as i have tried and no one could get back to me .
I bought the car only last year and i am intending to restore this great looking car.
Can anyone tell me where is a reliable one stop shop to buy parts from?
Or if any of you out there can help me find out more about this great car please im only willing to hear any advise.

It has to be genuine hydraulic fluid for the roof. Tell VW its for a Mk3 1998 Cabrio if they are confused by your car.

what 2lt turbo are you referring?? the new mkv FSI?

if so.... i dont think anyone has attempted that yet but i also know that the FSI block does not bolt up to the mk1 engine mounts

                  cheers

canberra VW centre i think it is has all the parts you need aswell

your better off going a 1.8T into your Cab as it has been done before and there is plenty of know how and conversion kits out there for them!
