        Billy's Mk2 CL Ragtop. 'Operation; Rags to Riches'

        Another small update for today!

        The car really needs a wash, so I am planning on giving it a proper wash today but the rain said no.

        So in the tiny little space I had when I didn't rain I managed to blast it with a power washer. Complete waste of time ahaha

        The paint needs a proper scrub, it looks like someone has sanded it back then tried to reprint it... With a paint brush -_-

        So tomorrow I will scrub it up, anyone think it will buff out? Ie. cut/buff/polish? I've got a friend who can do it on the cheap so I think I will try that before fully giving up hope on the paint.

        Also here's the pics of the interior roof.

        And here's the rag top from the outside. So happy it doesn't leak!

        Until next time!

              Got some more work done today!

              Gave the car a proper wash, thought I was doing well but the weird paint defects kept re-appearing.

              Washing the car kept bringing all this dodgy brown/redish colouring off, pretty much ruined my wash mit -_-

              Then I did a little rummaging around in the shed and found some Meguiars paint cut stuff.

              Gave the Mk2 a good run over with this stuff, worked a charm!

              You can really see the difference in this picture of the bonnet, left is cut and right is the original paint.

              And there she goes! Back to her resting place,

              Hopefully I can get another round of cutting in, then go over with wax sometime next week!

              I will get some more work done next week! Hopefully organise some new carpets over the next week and attempt to find some new seats!

                  That's a pretty impressive comeback for the paint.
                  Awesome work!

                      Another update today!

                      Well I have managed to get some more bits and bobs done recently.

                      I started to pressure wash interior but the weather only allowed me to do the passengers seat.

                      Pictures don't really do any justice but the amount of yellow (p*ss coloured) water that came out of the seats was terrible. They still feel uncomfortable as anything.

                      I then decided to try and restore the badges, I've cleaned about half of one at the moment. I plan on masking them up and spraying the letters silver again.

                      The left is all crap free, where as the few letters on the right are yet to be done.

                      Also my grandparents came by today and bought me a heat gun!

                      So I went to town...
                      Before;

                      After;

                      Works so well!

                      Will finish up the rear later on next week,

                            I reckon its an early UK car. South African ones never had LHD wipers

                              Oh really? That's pretty awesome, I've been in contact with the department of imports and infrastructure, but they just told me it was imported in 2002, they didn't tell me where from though :/
