Wiring always seems just that bit too hard to me LOL. Big props to you, I'd love to do this to a MK1, I imagine it would be much more complex though.

yeah mk1 would be pretty hard, you have to make up all the engine mounts etc. and the wiring would be way harder than the swap into a aussie mk2 which is considered plug and play. and you would have to upgrade the brakes etc on the mk1. wheres you can use the whole rear axle and front subframe on the mk2. 1.8t would prob be the best swap for a mk1 i reckon.
but i just love the sound of the vr6

not really , its just so you can have a full exhaust thats nice and quite , and then dump the exhaust before all the mufflers if you want it loud. its like the flapper on the r32's etc.

I'd be interested about setting getting a butterfly valve or similar for my exhaust,
I'll be interested to see what you come up with.

its pretty much good to go , just a little bit of tidying up, and saving some money for the amazingly expensive regolol
still looking for a nice vent to graft into the drivers guard since it already needs some paint work.

well test drove the mk2 and it drives great. here is a little post from the FAQ
my mk2 was never built to be a all out drag car, otherwise i would have tiny little brakes and wheels, and kept all the stuff to a complete minimum. it would absolutely smash all stock and mildly modded mk2's, but i wanted to build it to be a nice driver with the motor that i love. i can just cruze around in 5th gear and it pulls great. and when you look at the car it looks like a early 90's car. sure i can build it to be faster with FI or other stuff but it comes to the point where it looses its ablity to be a great daily. ive got my open bike lic and if i wanted to do " 10's all day bro" i would just buy a 1000cc roadbike. but there really isnt much point these days.
all in all i would reccomend this conversion,
and im not dissapointed at all, and its always nice to drive something you built from scratch. (got the car as a rolling shell)
