Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hey yea once it dies, I can turn it back over. Once I turn it back over it splutters and idles for a little bit then dies again.
Thanks for the manual link, but I already have been using it at nauseum....
Will try the relays and the main pump inside the tank to see whether its fueling properly.
Thanks again

Dizzy cap and rotor are new, connections are spot on cleaned out and all.....
Vacuum lines are all old, but connectors and hosing are in tip top shape. Air bubble tested on the last run so can rule that out too.
Latest drama is that my outer fuel pump is leaking from the hose ontop of the housing and my pump is noisy(not tip top).
Will replace that and see were we get to. Also my fuse box is getting re-done with all new relays and fuses, because it appears I have an iffy connection in the "ecu relay" plug.
But we shall see tomorrow what the day brings otherwise ill sell the car ($7k with engine, $10K without) haha jokes.....

Try replacing the coil, doesn't have to be a new one, just try another! I've had a problem with an original one, that i replaced with a new one, and had the same issue. Put a used one in and it was fine. Mine would cut out after about half an hour of driving, once it got up to certain temp, didn't like it when i sat at traffic lights! This was on an 8V G60. Took ages to suss what the problem was!sigpic

Yea I'll need to source one from the uk I believe(cheap like $5).
Can you use a MK3 coil or a SEAT coil of a similar year?
Mine cuts out as soon as it reaches operating temperature(5mins of idle) and cuts out when I plug in the "blue temp sensor".
Does unplugging the blue temp sensor bypass the coil? Thus running always on cold and destroying my fuel pump(metal shavings in housing!!!) ?
Need a definate before i go chasing one up. There is a local wreckers that has a 91 SEAT and a MK3 GL, will i need to steal the coils?
