So I'm sick of how high my car rides.. Yes it may look original, but since GAD I want it lower!!
So adjustable coil overs are on the cards.
Now what to get????
I want dampening and height adjustable so I've been looking at KW V2's, but there's ST, Weitec, FK, H&R, bilstein and the list goes on!!!
pre going air I ran weitec, non adjusting damper model and had my tyres only just tucking under the arches, very comfortable ride considering the hight , went round corners flat( but did change every bush on the car and ran larger roll bars, that probably helped) not choppy and didn't take your fillings out, I really only went the air route because I couldn't get the car on my drive in the uk.
I know this bears no relevanve to your question but my bomber bags are bilstein and are really good so would imagine their coils would be just as good
Don't know where I'm going but I do know where I've been
I'd look into weitec and FK. Off the top of my head the do the cheapest (best value for money, perhaps) height and dampning adjustable coils. Unless you want to splurge closer to 2K and get PSS bilsteins for V2's etc.
Remember, we don't really need the stainless steel/inox coated bodies in oz, no salt to ruin the coilover bodies.
I'm really happy with my H&R UUL, but my Fk's were also pretty good (only when wound way down though). Both are non-dampning adjustable though.
You'll find that the weitics and the st's are the same coilover. Even have the same locking nut with the grub screw.
from my research i found that..
KW, weitec and ST are all made in the same factory.
the ST Speedtech (height adjustable) option are practically the same as the Weitec Hicon GT's and the KW V1's,
the Weitec Hicon TX's (height and rebound adjustable) are again very similar to the KW V2's, except the V2's have a INOX stainless steel bodied option over the double galvanized HD steel,
and from then on KW V3's and clubsports are in a league of there own.
the ST's are slightly cheaper than Weitec, and KW is the most expensive and supposedly best option.
they all have slight variances on build quality and different warranties, therefore different pricing... that's it besides the logos
from what i can gather, all are suppose to be amazing and worth the money.
i suppose ill found out soon
