Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hose end goes to the tank. The Banjo end goes to the engine.

Tank will already have a return line somewhere, check the engine bay and locate it, then trace it back to the tank.
              Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

              Cheers,
              Grant...

On the meeting head there are 2 big banjos. The one on the side is the return. The front (possibly with fuel filter) is the feed. The return usually pairs up with the feed to go down a hole in the chassis leg and come out halfway under the drivers door. It normally returns to the fuel swirl/surge tank, but you can return it to the other outlet on the fuel sender.

red line you have there....from tank. everything else in that will come post pump.
but that sure as hell isn't a mk2 set up. with no surge tank/ feeder will mean surge loss galore in corners.......
the return goes to the surge tank that will be basicly useless with that set up in a mk2.
Main pump sits in a seperate tank and the return fuel goes into that, at overflow the excess will go back to the main tank.
you will have to chuck a joiner into your system return into your main tank return.
                  certainly is "custom"
