Didn't see that but the one on ebay had everything attached (and was in Brissy), was more than just the block.
I don't think it's viable financially as i'd have to pay to get it up here & have to source all the ancillaries for it.
Bearing in mind my car is a carby i'd need all the wiring loom, ecu etc. On top of that a i need a new radiator no matter what.
A 2E on carbs would be a very cool motor too but i don't have the time or resources to pull it off.

Can't argue with that, retrofitting a bare engine with with EFI/Carb set-up wouldnt be cheap
Cost effectivly transporting an engine interstate has also got me stumped.....

Have you tried contacting the interstate bus companies? They always have space on their busses that they rent out as long as there is someone at one end to put the engine in the bus and someone at the other end to take it out. It's just treated as luggage.

                Your joking, right ?

                Your joking, right ?

This car is perfect for highways. More fun on small roads with tight corners though. You can't go faster than 100kph in Australia anyway so there is no point to get anything faster, mate !

You can improve the ride quality though through buying good tires. I personally bought the Michelin Energy for mine (13 inch/ UK made) and road noise has since been halfed (4 new tyres of the same; 2 front and 2 at the back), fuel economy improved and so did the ride.

If of course you modified your car (i.e. lowered it) you may have spoiled the ride at the same time.

Mine is 100% original and that's how it will stay.

I personally drive around these bloody humps even if it means driving through the grass or take a longer route where there aren't any.

                I'd keep that car !

Calm down fella! I've already decided to keep it!!!

Unfortunately the speed bumps are unavoidable because they span the whole road and it's the only road out of my house.

I know i've spoiled the ride, but i prefer my cars low, i've never been able to keep a car standard, but that's just me.

As for the engine thing, it's not so much a speed issue as it is an engine wear issue, because of the low gearing it is at high revs at motorway speeds.

And lastly of course you can go faster than 100kph, it's just not legal!

                    G'day mate,

glad to "hear" that you have decided to hold onto the car.

In the North Ryde area (Sydney) they also installed such stupid humps and at night-time some locals came with a srewdriver and took some of them out so that we could avoid the actual humps ;o)

In the worst case scenario you could just undo the lowering and make it standard again ;o)

My subframe is doing quite a good job of wearing them down

Ask Loon, he might have a good idea of how to transport the engine.
                          Glad you're keeping it

PS you can go 110km/hr in quite a few states....

Give it a few months going over the speed bumps the exact same way every day and I'm sure they'll become a smaller problem I know the girlfriends driveway is now a little more low car friendly from my mk3 haha.
