  • Diagnosis please? GB Oil leak?

I guess its a seal between the gearbox and passenger side driveshaft?

Can anyone confirm and let me know what the seal is called and any other info?

    Thx in advance

Drive flange seal most likely, but what does the oil smell like?
Regular burnt/fuely engine oil smell, or pungent gearbox oil smell?

Read up on this, is quite a fun little job

      Cheers mate.

Oil smells, almost certain its gearbox oil.

Clicked on the link, goddamn, so many fiddly things to fix... dammit

No doubt it is then, my drive shafts/CV joints looked exactly the same before I replaced the seals.
I think its reccommended to use specialty tools, but we managed by modifying/making tools ourselves.
This job definantly requires a hoist though.

Yeah mine was like that. That said I replaced the sump gasket, cleaned it up and most of that went away. I've never had to change the transaxle oil seal.
