              • UPDATE......

We're hoping to see it in primer, all shaved and pretty by Friday arvo, as long as everything goes smoothly...

In addition to the shaving you see on the back panels, the holes in the front quarters where the "GTI" badges were (where you would find the side indicators on an Australian-spec car) will be welded up, and the antenna is no more, opting instead for a stealth windscreen antenna. The car is going to be hard-blocked with 2000grit to remove all orange-peel, and (for the moment) the GTI flares and rubbing strips are coming off, and all trim holes welded up, making way for a clean Euro-look. To top it all off, while the windows are off the car, the tint is coming off, and getting replaced with brand new 35%.

All the work is getting done in the panel shop, but Tony and Dom are pretty busy at the moment, so my car is taking a bit longer, but I don't mind, because the price is right

Gonna try to get down to Sydney next weekend to pick up some bits and pieces from Loon, and hopefully the mighty Mk2 will be mobile shortly afterwards...

                Cheers!
                JHN

                    • Mk2 Gti Bhp output?

                      hi john,
or anyone else who might also know.
i'm just trying to figure out what my old mk2 's output in Bhp would have been. original engine 1.8Kjet.. last engine in it was a 2.0L K - Jet from audi.
can u tell me what the output is or was supposed to be?
as i'm looking for a new Gt TDi they come in a variety of power ranges and so want to work out the best option,,, obviously the 150 would be great however they cost a bomb.
                      thanks
                      Jake

                              Blocking down the driver's door...

                              Blocking down the tailgate...

                              The final coat of primer...

Sorry I can't post a final result just yet, but we are getting there...

By the way, If anybody tells you that cross-blocking a car isn't hard work, slap them on my behalf... My arms are hurting...

                              Cheers!!!
