Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

You know you drive a MK2 when people ask, What type of Alfa is that?
                    That's a pretty nice Peugeot.
So you drive a VW? Like a beetle?
A GTI? With a turbo? Does it go hard?

                      • You know you drive a mk2 when you call a parts store and they try to
convince you that a mk2 doesn't exist because there's no parts listing for them.

You know you drive a Mk2 when a thread like this appears, and you want it to be sticky so you can feel each others pain.

                          • You know you've driven MK2's when you sell one but almost a year later you are constantly looking to buy another one despite your best attempts to move on to something else.

                            • You know you drive a mk2 when your friends refuse to ever go for a drive in your car again, but when they get out they can't stop staring at it.

Try a 1984! They have no records of anything predating 87 or whatever year they came out in... Even Tooley's have issues with my golf!
