  • You know you drive a MK2 when...

Idea slighty stolen from Loon, but if MK1 sections gets it, so should MK2's!

Simply state, You know you drive a MK2 when.......

    I'll start

You know you drive a MK2 when you automatically associate the numbers 8 and 16 with valves.

You know you drive a MK2 when you try looking for parts

You know you drive a MK2 when your back is broken from the drivers seat, but you still drive the car any chance you get.

You know you drive a MK2 when you feel a sense of warmth, safety and petrol fumes inside.

...when you drive past 40yo mk5 GTI drivers who look at you like 'what Golf is that??!'

...when you can just about see better at night when you turn OFF your headlights and gaffa tape torches to your bonnet.

...when the first thing you think when you see an audi tt, S3, or mk4 GTI is "hmm, that engine belongs in a mk2".

        PS: I love mk2 seats!

You know you drive a MK2 when you can't hear the cd over the fan noise.

You know you drive a MK2 when you smile very time you get in it.

                      ITS SO TRUE!

The first time I took mine to work, a car full of P plater bogans leaned out and said nice volvo. To which I said its a VW and they replied:

"Mate I think I know a volvo when I see one"

VW = Volvo Works, factory team maybe ? The MK2 does actually resemble that god awful Volvo from the 80's that was shared with Rover, a total bomb of a car, cant recal the model off the top of my head

I'm impressed a bogun knew what a Volvo is; fully sick mate......

I used to think the same of all Volvo's until I found out what an 850 was

You know you drive a mk2 when you can go through a round about at 110 and the brand new 'sports' hatch behind you cant....then stops and asks "OMG, is it turbo bro?"

You know you drive a mk2 when your mate who drives V8s all day gets scared when you approach a corner.

You know you drive a mk2 when you use the bike lane to overtake....hehehe

You know you drive a mk2 when your bible is published by Bentley

In my case, I was cbf'd to write volkswagen. But yes most impressive that they knew what a volvo is seeing as Canberra is over run by WRX's & Lancer's or Skyline's (add masses of bitterness to my voice)

Also my friend says my car reminds him of the old mitsubishi colt.

You know you drive a Mk2 (with a high lift cam) when someone asks is it suppose to sound like that.

You know you drive a Mk2 when you start it on a cold morning and have to wait for it to warm up.

You know you drive a Mk2 thats been lowered when the guy behind you honks their horn because you taking to long to get into a carpark with a gutter

You know you drive a Mk2 when you have to do a 3 point turn with no power steering in a tiny street with savage high gutters.
