Shannons would be your best bet mate, they insured my Corrado fully comp, not too many mods on it, just RS 301's, repaint and very tidy for $AUD800 - $AUD900 a year. Had full salvage rights, replacement panels direct from VW if needed, i broke a windscreen and they got me a new one through VW, didn't cost me a cent! Hope to see your Golf over here one day, you will struggle with it being that low though, its the huge gutters that i found to be the problem, entrances to driveways are just hideously angled down then straight up again!

Dude, I grounded my standard mk3 driving into a mall out there, with the mk2 I'd have to pre plan the route and live somewere flat, or just install air while its in london, every time out out there I just wish I had the car with me and going to a meet, you guys have no idea, I just struggle to find work hence I'm still in london
And as for cars for sale here, below is an example of whats near the top of the budgets mentioned before, copied from the edition 38 website.
"Right I gotta keep this brief as I am at work - will update once I am home with more up-to-date pics etc,
The time has come to sell my awesome ex G60 Edition One golf which has had a wealth of subtle modifications carried out over the last few years.
Here is a brief spec list to get things started...
Engine
BAM code engine from 2006 Audi TT - 36,000 miles on invoice from MV Developments
Custom mapped MBE Management with switchable boost, mated to QPEng plug’n’play loom.
QPEng 2.5” stainless steel turbo downpipe.
Forge Motorsport Turbo Intake.
Powertec air filter.
Vibratechnic engine mounts.
Fully rebuilt VW Golf G60 gearbox with Peloquin ATB differential and custom gear ratios.
Sachs Golf VR6 clutch.
Golf G60 Flywheel.
Chassis
currently running 8.5 and 9.5"x16 BBS RS003 wheels - fully polished with 195/40 and 215/35 tyres
KW Variant 1 stainless steel coilover suspension.
H&R front and rear anti-roll bars.
VW Golf G60 280mm brakes, running standard VW ABS system.
Outside
Resprayed in standard VW Dark Burgandy Pearl metallic paint by Phirm FX. This was the original colour but, due to stone chips was completely repainted in 2006 or 2007 (cant remember but have invoice to prove)
Substantial work carried out to rear arches by Bodytone to enable fitment of 9.5” BBS RS003. No visible modifications from exterior.
Inside
Stock VW Golf G60 Edition 1 Recaro interior
I have probably missed loads of things off the list - I havent included little things like consumables (starter motor, bushes, brakes etc) as they have all been replaced with new genuine VW parts.
The car comes with a massive folder of receipts for work done or parts bought over the years.
It was featured in Retro Cars (front cover) earlier on in the year and also recently picked up Best Mk2 Golf at GTI International.
I must stress that with the longer gear ratios, this thing is rediculously quick and with the LSD is able to put power down extremely well.
Pics (these are from earlier on in the year without the BBS)
Price
Bearing in mind the amount spent I am looking for £6500 if you bring your own wheels or £8500 if you were to buy the RS'sDon't know where I'm going but I do know where I've been
