Pay someone to do it properly

The parts aren't the real cost, but the time to take everything off and re-install it is the clincher.

When you take the head off, i'd imagine most people would clean up the head and replace the valve stem seals.

If you're going to do that, you may as well get a light skim and a big of porting done too.. which makes it a $1000 sorta affair give or take a few hundred depending on where you take it.

Is your car a GTI with a big valve head? because if it isn't you should invest in one. gives the 8v a good amount of round-town poke-age!

I think the cream may have just been some random sludge, after cleaning everything up, it hasnt come back.

i think my temp gauge is just very inaccurate atm,

also unfortunatley i have 1.8 a kjet non gti, low its a 'GX' so a little sluggish, but it does the job for the time being, im slowly redoing everything, so a changing the head may be a future option
