Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Inner Spotlights, high beam?

This seems like a really stupid question but are the inner spotlights on the 4 light grills supposed to be only for high beam by default? I thought they were but looking at my existing wiring im not so sure.

Ive seen people hook them up to do various things (high/low/standalone) but what are they normally?

    cheers,

    Simon

The lights should only be spotlights, wired into the high beam circuit so they can only be turned on when high beam is working. Rego should check this but it's one of the things they miss in their rush to inspect a car and get their $31.

Now you have me thinking....im pretty sure that mine are wired as highbeams (I need to double check); my car is totally stock so I doubt the lights have been re-wired, I'll take a look tomorrow
