Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • Mk2 Steelies

Just wondering where'd be the best place to source clean, original steelies for a Mk2... aside from ebay. Anyone have any for sale?

    Cheers!

You can get G60 steels from ebay in the UK for around 50 pounds each
Or you could try VW, part number 357601025M
or you could get a set of 4 from big boys toys in the UK for $630 landed

I'm sure a local option will appear before having to go overseas and pay big $$$

I'm open to options, and I've already had a PM for a possible set in Sydney.

Not all that familiar with Mk2's but I what had in mind was whatever size is standard on a '92 Mk2 GTI. What are the G60's like? I've Googled but without result. These are really just to do me until I get a set of BBS's or the like.

          Thanks for the quick replies!

that mk 3 doesn't have G60/corrado steelies. the bolt holes are more trapezoid rather than round holes, and came in 4 stud, and 15x6 et (I believe) is around +35 . those ones one the mk 3 are probably beetle or mk 4 steelies.

mk 2 GTI's that came here, came standard with 14x6 steelies, with the round holes, et38.

Nice! I love those steelies on the Mk3. Too extreme for what I have planned though. I'll just have to see what's on offer before shelling out.

                    Thanks again lads.

I have a couple of sets of Mk2 steelies. i reckon $220 for a set with tyres and centrecaps is fair. Freight to vic will be around $50

                          Good luck finding corrado steelies.

It's pretty unlikely you'll find any , but the MK3 Passats had the same wheels as the Corrado.

Those Passat wheels look great. How much would they cost if I contacted VW?

@Golf Loon - What kind of condition are they in and what kind of tires do they have on? I'm up in Sydney next week so I could well pick them up from you.
