Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    • Car looks awesome, really neat conversion. Do it yourself?

As for the LM's, wow, inspired choice. Keep 'em silver i reckon.

      Good work sir!

Agreed. Such a classy, motor-sport look to em when they're raw.
Looks really ****ing good dude. Making me want a MK2 even more.

        • cheers guys, yep, did most of it myself. Couldn't have done it without Tim's help though, if it's got to do with a VR6, he'll know it! Also good to just have someone to bounce ideas off! Thanks Tim!

I'm not fussed with the LM's, I'll take them off soon (getting it ready for engineering) and put em in storage for now. Not going to daily them. (well, who knows!) Super happy that I man'd up and got the LM's, that decision paid off 100%, as I love how it looks!
Nearly didn't happen though, only picked them up on thursday before the show (after about 3 months waiting), tyres fitted friday and fixed some of the nasty gutter rash, then work like crazy to get the car ready for sunday. I didn't have a working speedo or tacho till 10pm saturday night, and then it was time to fully clean it! Good times.

Car isn't 100% yet, still a few bits and bobs that need to be fixed up yet, but hopefully should have it all engineered before I go back to uni (march).

              • What ever happened to that MK2 photo shoot in Melbourne? Maybe when you get your MK engineered and ready to roll Jarred we ought to get them together?

                • yea, I'm not sure about that. Defiantly would be up for it once it's all engineered. I don't like driving it unengineered. Especially the way I like to drive it!
