Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Feels good to be back! Importing question

    Hi all,

Hope everyone is doing well. I suspect only a small fraction of people will remember me but I used to own a mk2 1.8t. Looking at getting back into the game but doing it a lot better and smarter this time around..

Anyway - was actually looking at importing a mk2 from the UK (Given they are really hard to find in NSW now - or at least from my searches it has been) but just wondering if anyone has had experience in doing it? I actually want to grab a 3dr project (I’m sure many other people want these too).

    Thanks in advance

    I remember!

You sold me your stock parts and then showed me a MK2 1.8T without a diff was a bad idea [emoji1787]

      Are you on Facebook?

Find the Australian Golf MK2 Owners group.

All the good dudes are there now.

One guy there, Leigh, imported one from the UK

          Sure do! 9 years now.

I’m jealous, but to be honest I always wanted a three door. Lucky my old dear still lives there so hence me thinking about importing.
