  • Drive Shaft Removal Issues

I've had a quick search and can't find anything to really help me.

I removed all bolts from the first drive shaft no issues, but with the second I have found 2 threaded bolts. Any suggestions or tips without getting too drastic?

If you mean that the heads have been rounded out. I assume that they are 6mm Allen keys. You can smash an M8 spline into them to undo them.

If that doesn't work I'd bring the Vice Grips in, closely followed by trying to chisel them to get them started. If that failed miserably, Mr Angle Grinder would be sure to do the job.

Thanks for the response Gavin, that's right the heads had been rounded out. I couldn't figure the best way to describe what I had meant.
I will give the m8 spline a go tomorrow night and see how that goes. I did have Mr Angle Grinder sitting very close and was very tempted but thought I'd ask on here for.
      Cheers
      Jason

That spline drive has never failed for me. Good luck.

Don't cut the heads of the bolts off. Cut into the heads from the front of the bolt so you can get a big screwdriver into the cut to turn the bolt.

Then replace them with normal grade 10 bolts.
