Easier to put in a 9a if you want a 2l and run it with kr cams, ABF is a long block and is a pain to get in a mk1 as the stock manifold will hit the bonnet.

Mischa.....i know of 3 ABF motors for sale...do it! (Yes I keep an eye on things for when i buy one)
It bolts straight in although perhaps height might be an issue in the Mk1? not sure? Just get some better mounts for it first....leave one motor for me though!

The Mk1 has no subframe, but most 4 cylinder motors will physically bolt in. Provided you have the boltholes underneath the timing cover for the side mount, you are set.

the outer bit on mine thats pushed in. havent pulled the guards off yet so havent had a chance to pull the rest of hte front apart. exams finish saturday
