So it’s a product of the 90’s, but the quality of the work done (especially the paint job) is quite impressive! Gets up and goes pretty nicely, too. It will be a real shame to pull this one apart! So some pics before I do
In fairness, the car was up for sale for quite some time and had no takers. As Stu just mentioned, I have no need for a 4 door body in its current form, but it is the mechanicals that can be used for a number of other projects
Looks like a nice car that someone has put a lot of work into
I notice that the fuel system has been upgraded from k-jet to something new?????
Nice dog aswell
Hey tassie I notice you have changed your wheels to BBS RS's. They look damn good on there, they really are the ultimate style of wheel for the mk1 imo. Oneday I'll get a set for mine at a realistic price, oneday...
Nice buy! Did the seller finally conceed defeat and sell the ecu with it?
I thinks that's what out a lot of people off the sale.
I considered it a few times as it kept getting relisted but I wanted to build my own motor and I already had most of the other bits.
Looks to be a nicely sorted conversion though, I'd probably pull the exotic stuff out of it, pop in a MK 3 1800 and sell it off if you're not after the coachwork.
In interesting developments, the car has been sold minus the engine and gearbox to 9 times State Speedway champ. After using Toyota engines for quite some time, Ed C has convinced him to build a 200bhp 1.6 cross flow 8v running 13.5:1 compression on methanol It’ll be dry sumped running on throttle bodies. The 4 door body is going to be used to road test the engine and enable it to be put on the dyno
I’ll get some pics and dyno figures up when it’s complete
