  • Air filter replacement.

I went looking for a filter to suit the diesel today; Ryco Code A282.

the local Auto1 guys said it was NLA? It's still up on the Ryco website.

Is it a superseded part? or alternate? Just finding it odd that something like that would be NLA.

Or was it simply him BS'ing me...

I have no idea about Ryco partnos but I buy all my filters from the UK. micks garage, eurocarparts are both worth a try.

I bought aftermarket air, cabin & fuel filters from qualityparts09 on ebay yesterday and it worked out about half the price (AUD92) of buying from Repco/auto1/SCA/bursons.

It's nice to support local but there comes a point where I give up.

If you want local, Onlineautomotive have the ryco for $46 - I think Mick's garage is about $30 posted

Well, tried Auto1 for the reverse light switch, and no luck, but one of the guys who I used to work with (at VW!) was there on the counter, and he found me a substitute air filter...

        for $26 trade price.

Could have bought quite a few with the remaining $85...

They had them in stock, so it means they turn them over often enough, and WESFIL obviously does them, so gedonnit!

or if anyone is keen I'll look at a 'group buy' of the ones out of the states, they don't ship direct, but are happy to freight via a Freight Forwarding service. I'd estimate a max of $20 each including shipping to to and around Aus.
