  • Mk1 4door Build :P

Hey Guys, so i decided i should buy a car
im a huge Japanese car guy lol so i decided i should buy a 1978 4 Door MK1 Golf

    Engine - is a 1.6L 8v in mint condition.

Body - is a poo brown in good condition with minimal rust (so far) and broken seals
( little bit leaky cheers Sydney Weather for proving my car leaks in water )

Interior - is pretty good with only minor issues with one headrest and missing bottom half of dash and a few trims

Wheels - are about 36 years old and I'm currently looking for BBS Rs (non reps) to go on it or any other non rep Meshies

Suspension - lowered springs ? have no clue why someone would put them in because they aint doing **** lol

Driving - GOOD FUN! no issues

    Day 1- arrived from Melbourne

Day 2 - Storm Hit Sydney and found water in doors so put tarp on it

P.S please bag it. It's what I bought the car for haha.

Plastic bumpers have a clip on the guard that holds the end of the bumpers on. If you're going to run them instead of the chrome ones you need to drill a hole in the guard and fit the clip.

                      Cheers

it didn't have any clips to start with, but there are holes already drilled in the side of the guard. have any idea where i can get the clips from ?

Give Nick at Volksparts a call - 0412 345 126. He's down near Canberra but he does have over 50 MK1's rusting away on his property.

Matt at Camden GTI - 0423 051 737 - usually has some early model bits but I don't know if he'd have the clips.
