  • Clutch?

So it's been a few months now that I haven't really touched my car but I'm back
76 golf with a vr6 conversion. I have little experience so I'm here to ask all the stupid questions and hope to learn from them, so please bare with me.
The clutch pedal is loose, it just drops to the floor. I've read up about clutch cables and all that stuff. Something about cable to hydraulic, no idea. Can someone give me a helping hand, maybe point me in the right direction?

Is the clutch pedal connected to a cable which goes to the gearbox or hydraulic line (pipe) which goes to the gearbox?

You might have an Ibiza Cupra style cable clutch setup, which was used on the gearboxes that normally have a hydraulic clutch setup in lieu of said hydraulic setup.

Honestly, its not a very complex system and if you can find the gearbox you can probably figure out what has gone wrong.

Also, a photo would help, vr6 converted mk1's arent exactly standard fare.

Awesome. Thanks guys. I've seen that conversion on eurowise before but was unsure if it were the right thing I needed. Hoping I get this started today. Can't find a nice slim alloy radiator so a custom made one will be ready for me to pick up soon as well excited!

Cool as! Do you have a seperate thread dedicated to your build? Will be great to keep up with how its going.

I don't have a separate thread I didn't think I would need one. I know nothing about cars, except for the basic stuff.
