Nice one for going down the KW path! Which ones are they?
Parts are reasonably priced, but when you're working on mk1's, most of the time you need a LOT of parts LOL. so it adds up quickly.

I really loved the V3s i had in my R32, so was eventually gonna go KWs again for this build. The one's I got are a special edition V1 made for VW Heritage and comes with the black springs and adjusters etc for an OEM look. They were 20% off, and I had some store credit so jumped on them!

It's all relative - I'm in an R36 at the moment.
Compared to anything for that, it's very cheap.
$700 for a new seat bolster? ...Yes please :/

Agree with tinto. It's all relative.

I paid around $150 for a pair of tail lights for the mk1. Would be close to $300-400 for a set of mk5/6/7.

Vw's are relatively cheap. Apart from the vr6 I'd say. You don't know overpriced parts, until you buy a Honda as Terrance and myself know haha. Parts are stupidly pricey. Coilovers $1250 without shipping. Mk1 coilovers shipped to my door $460. Especially when the aus$ is strong, parts are for free from us or uk.

So far can't complain with pricing! But i'm yet to receive a bill from the mechanic with all the fixes he's done haha.

On a side note, i did sell my DC2R to fund this project LOL.

At the end of the day, every one has their own budget to modify their cars with and it's all personal choice. It's all about the journey and the goals. So far mine has been frustrating and fun at the same time

I just want my car back now, so I can get all the rest of the mods installed!

I know some Honda parts seem expensive (Engines especially) But its not really far to compare those prices for coilovers as you can buy cheap ones for Honda for that price to, same as buying expensive ones for the mk1. I bought my Weitec hicon GTs off of Preen for $1300. Hope you understand what im saying
                    Its the little things..

Today was a good day! Got the car on club rego, fitted some 185/45/15 tyres and lowered the car . Fronts can probs come down a touch more, though.

Awesome work big yellow guy. Can't see very well, but tires allow the car to sit much better!

Keen for out cruise whenever it's happening haha

That's a pic with old tyres on still. Was waiting at tyre shop for my turn haha. Will post new pics of ride height over the weekend once I adjust the fronts a bit more.

But yes, keen for a cruise! Today's weather was hectic!

Took the car for a quick drive around the block after a week of sitting in the garage. So much joy to be had!

I'm about to lower my MK1 GTI Cabby,

what's the ride like on the KW Coilovers? I was looking at the H&R Cup Comforts. (non-adjustable I know)

                              Your feedback would be appreciated.

                              Ta!

Not much of an update, but took the car out last weekend for the Cars and Coffee meet. Turned out to be an awesome day!
