Havnt really done much to the mk1 in a while apart from strip it...I waz doing some research today as I have minimal paper work on this car and found out that its a 1.7l built in Wolfsburg germany but im gonna do a engine # check aswell to make sure. .pretty excited to get this thing on the road so im gonna get into it over the next month and get a whole lot done...anyone have any advice on what break set up would be good at a decent price?
Mk3 Brake booster with Mk3 rear disks would be a good start...
I've got my booster, but no rear disk's at this stage...

Yeah I was thinkin mk3 brakes...theres and mk1 with a rear disk conversion at my local wreckers so I was thinking bout grabing them but they look pretty rat **** so it might ve a better idea just to go with the mk3 stuff
From what I understand, you can just unbolt them off of a mk3 and bolt them straight onto a mk1...
But I believe that you will need mk1 scirocco handbrake cables.
I believe this is what you need...
Mk3 Disc's, Calipers, stub axles, backing plate.
Mk1 Scirocco handbrake cables.
For the brake booster,
Mk3 brake booster, master cylinder, and if it's a 2port master like mine, the pair of t-pieces.
Unfortunately for me, the Mk3 donor car had been converted to 5-stud, and I didn't wish to change the wheels, so no rear disc's for me...
