            • Anyway, the swallow is kicking along,

i've finally gotten the main rust cut out

and the engine bay is almost to that sexy shaved state i'm after

i've off-loaded all my wheels and am now left with only one set being these oz turbos i picked up, new pair of 2" lips (will be 15x7 and 15x and i've started the tedious task of polishing all the bolts (and stripping the paint off them)

              finally some decent photos...

              painted

              • You weren't joking when you said it was written off - that's a big hit in the rear. Did the other driver just decide not to use their brakes and use the Golf to stop their car ploughing into oncoming traffic?

Glad to hear you're ok and still working on the Golf. That rust repair looks like a serious job and those wheels are awesome.

                Cheers

                • Jesus mate. I'm glad you're okay! I would have lost it if that was my mk1.
Good to see its onwards and upwards though! Massively jealous of the OZ too. One of my personal favourites.

                            • those turbos are absolutely amazing. props on building another mk1 so soon!
But no really, I like to look distinguished when I step out of the car. People are like, "wonder what he does for living."
I just reply, "your daughter, sir." - some dude on stanceworks

I had fixed half the broken crap but that just meant it was still halfway inoperable
