Yeah they don't make copper radiators anymore! It's a shame because there more durable!
From what I can recall when I brought my radiator around 3 months ago the salesman stated that there was only 2 copper radiators for a mk1 1.5d left in Australia!
MK1, 1976 golfLS, 4 door (SOLD! Will be missed)
    MK1, 1980 golfGLD, 4 door (1.8l, 8v, 5 speed)

Did you get a copper one?

Copper itself is expensive, and don't think I've seen a copper radiator to be honest. The old datsun radiators are brass, that is the closest I have seen. They are arguably worth more in scrap metal value than putting it in a car!

I dont profess Great knowledge on this - but I would worry about copper radiator increasing the catalytic corrosion of the Aluminium head.
I agree that copper would last longer - but is there an issue with the dissimilar metals and could that be why engineers went for Alloy ones?
