thanks george, credits to peter jones!
now im just in the middle of unbolting my inlet manifold so i can purchase a new 32/36 weber kit + manifold and also my exhaust manifold so i can get custom made extractors and exhaust for it ..

im just worried about using a 32/36 weber and electronic dizzy :/
is there a specific weber + manifold i should purchase that i dont need to tamper around the mk1 golf loom?
i hate beeing a noob at this !

Okay, while I'm waiting for this engine bay to get painted I'm looking for a mechanic that specialize in Vw and also have knowledge in engine conversions, if anyone knows someone who preforms engine conversion on a Vw hook me up with a contact!
        Thanks

Yeah I'm thinking about finishing it! I've seen a few mk1s in NSW and comparing them to this mk1, I've been really lucky on this buy!
So I'll be finishing it off

It's not something to do with the electronic choke is it??

Did it plug into any wires when it was on the car?

to be honest i brought this engine as it is, so i dont know what was exactly plugged at the end of it.... ive go this gut feeling i cant use this manifold and need to purchase one more adequate...and knowing my luck ill run into another problem sooner or later!

Yeah Steve you won't be able to use this manifold unless you mod it to suit the 32/36, if your good at tig welding give it a go, but if it were me find a ts passat manifold. I have mentioned this before I think? If I'm right the manifold you have is the factory center point injection one off the mk3 and seat.

Get yourself a TS passat or lynx manifold.

Peter from thornbury carbs will know where to get a manifold from. If I'm wrong lynks don't make them anymore??? But there are other suppliers out there.

Finally found these mk1 gti vented discs!

The mk1 has also gone for another paint job! Since the first makeover was an abortion!
Lets hope this time it will appear better!
