Oil cooler repair! Who can help in Sydney?

Hi team,

I've got an external oil cooler in my Mk1 which has sustained damage at some point in time. It's now leaking oil fairly badly and I'd like to get it sorted out.

Who can do this sort of work in Sydney and how much should I expect to pay? Or could I get a direct replacement? I'm not keen to mess about with different fittings for another one. Any help appreciated! Here's a quick shot of it.

Is it the genuine GTI style one? If so they're same as superbug and readily available.

I'm really not sure. I'd need to compare them side by side. From a quick Google they look quite similar. I might have to do some measurements.

The one you picture is a std GTI MK 1 oil cooler, identical to the aircooled engine version other than they stick a length of foam seal tape down the side that goes up against the radiator.( minimise air bleed between the two coolers ) Changed my last one back in about 1988.

Available from VW Classic parts germany or heratige vw in UK plus many other establishments.. start phoning !!
