Might head up in the mk5. Unfortunately the mk1 won't be anywhere near ready

That's cool man, I should hopefully be there with the Mk1 guys. Look for a guy in a giant sombrero, he's the guy to talk to about everything Mk1 and he's the owner of Team floG Motorsport

A few updates and some pics to follow soon.

Since my last post I have gotten a foamy rubber(3 mm thick) to go on top of the dash and then the dash will be covered in the same material as the door cards and seats.

Bought some mk1 cabrio front seats and have ordered seat 'covers' from murica, plus material for door cards and dash. They're not actually covers but rather replace the material on the seats.

Also got the bonnet sorted as the center(where most people push to close the bonnet) was pushed in, not noticeable to the naked eye, but I would know it was there so decided to sort that. Also got all the panels how I want them and am sorting my garage out to set up a temp. Paint booth. That's where I am up to now. Should be painting soon. Fingers crossed.

As promised, its been a while, so some pics, nothing special, just the usual, sand-paint-repeat. *Warning pic overload*

                    Bonnet looked good

Closer inspection showed its been pushed too many times in the centre to close it

Doors needed a little touch up:

And in the mean time while prepping for paint I have started fixing up the dash already, covering it with 3mm reinforced foam and this will later be covered in material to match the seats.

                    SNOT

Not too bad, considering im Noob as at this

Thanks Fellas, The dash will take time to finish as I will be waiting on delivery of my new seat material, dash will be trimmed to suit, and extra material is on order to cover that(currently finishing off the trimming of foam and gluing).

Realistically looking at starting the final painting process in the next few weeks, if all goes to plan

                                Cheers mate,

So since my last update, I have gotten the car prepped for paint, and have got it into my garage and primed(see pics below)

Also sanded the whole car with 400 grit and then some areas that I felt needed particular attention with 800 grit.

Also finished off the dash, as much as I could without material here(picked that up today from the post office)

Oh and I had to try one of the headrests onto the seats, just wish I got the shipment in full, but according to the tracking on USPS, the other half is still in New York. I think the 2 colours are going to suit the mk1 perfectly. The material is grey and black tweed cloth and is very 70's.
