Life is full of ups and downs
After a lengthy conversation with Gareth at Canberra VW Centre, I've just bought a Seat Cupra
This will be my daily until I sort the body work/paint out on the Golf, then Conversion Time...
Think bike carbs, lots of black bits and a track attitude.
      Pete.

I'm kicking myself I hadn't thought of this before.
The beauty of this is that I should be able to run the Ronal's on the Cupra for now and I'm not fussed about the cosmetics of the Cupra as it is a parts pig after all
Bodywork on the Golf including new paint will be around $4k, then there is the Conversion itself...
It won't happen overnight, but the Cupra should prove a more entertaining/comfortable/highway worthy car than the Golf in the short term and I can at least belt it up at Marulan or Wakefield in the mean time.
In regard to bike carbs, I'll make a final decision on that further down the track...as I may end up running E85.

                Donor car is here
It's nice and Solid, has had the cam belt and link chain done recently and drives well. The gear ratios suck the balls, but I'll be going hydro clutch/late 6 speed manual in the Golf.
I'm going out to chat with the lads from CVWC Belco during the week to discuss the whole project in detail.
Then it's just a matter of saving up loads of $...

                Can't wait

It's been ages (and a whole lot of indecision) since I've updated this thread.
I have a mate that is building a drag car at the moment, but wants something that turns corners too
So, I now have a 'partner' in crime and the Golf will be a dedicated track car in the next twelve months or so
It will be hectic 'low budget' spec...just a bunch of cheap, good looking fun on a car trailer is what we are hoping for.
                      Stay tuned...
