A few parts have arrived
28/36 DCD Weber and manifold, Mk1 Gti Calipers (still need to buy discs/braided lines) also scored some early Porsche gauges...
Carpet should arrive tomorrow, along with a new moulded dash mat (dash is grand canyon), I've gone with a charcoal set as the rooflining has already been done that colour. And I also have a new shift boot and handbrake boot coming with yellow stitching
I'll drop more photo's when everything is fitted.
Pete.
So after just a short time owning the little Golf, I have decided to Sell my Subaru
To make up for it's absence, I will be purchasing a "Big Brake Kit" to complement my GTi calipers (these are in major need of a rebuild...who does kits?) a full PowerFlex bush kit and a full Ashley exhaust. This will be mated to the headers I scored from Josh...I've tidied these up a fair bit, and they will be getting a flex join and o2 bung welded on. I have a Stack Ltd. wideband from the Subie I can't bare to part with, so I'll fit that to the Golf. I plan to paint and wrap the headers, clean and paint (wrinkle black) the intake manifold (possibly wrap that too) when/if the temperature ever gets over 13degrees C.
I am on the lookout for some MK2 GTi Recaro's or VR6 seats too.
Hopefully, the Golf should be looking good come GAD.
Pete.
Wow that is a blast from the past, I made an attempt to purchase that car about eight years ago, it still looks great and I'm really happy somebody is enjoying it! I bought a mars red one, painted it blue and built a 1.9 8v then a 1.8 16v and now have an abf installed but have not driven it for 7 years DOH! You know you own a Mk1 project when...

Had to pull a few strings via FB to get a friend of a friend to buy it for me, but I'm super happy to get a copy, even if it's not mint.
Still waiting on my carpet too
Pete.
Cheers guys...my Carpet is coming through Knox, via a local auto parts place...they may be my problem. Apparently (same source) Tru-Fit no longer do Mk1 Carpets.
It's the dash mat that has fallen through, but I'm going to have a shot at resurfacing the dash, until a good one turns up.
I've just ordered these too...I checked with the Seller first and they are 2 door specific...WIN
It was never something I had planned to buy...I just get hard for CF.
I have sold my Subaru now, and have decided to keep the Recaro SR3, which will be re-trimmed in something 'suede like'. I am going to cop out on the rest of the seats for now and just run sheepskin.
No pics till GAD.
Pete.
