      • hey dom id listen to valver he has spent crazy money on these engines
        why dont you just do up the 16v, cams,headwork, bmc intake,nice shiny engine bits samco hose kit then work your way into a turbo set up can get costly that way you can drive it atleast and it costs less

        • mate, im not going into this build nowing f**k all...... ive been researching k-jet turbo systems scince i was 14, i have most if not all of the fuel injection gear, ive weighed up all the pro's and cons, im not listening to anyone when it comes to my car, its my choice, as of now i wont be updating any more progress, i know u mean well by giving me advice, but i dont need it, i may not have advertised myself playing with turbo systems.... but i DO know my stuff!

            dont you think if k-jet was that good it would be used today? just my 2c i hope you make us all eat our words, good luck with the whole build.
            mk4 the mods begin for round 2 hahahha

            • k-jet used today? merc have been using it up untill the late 90's
              just because its old doesnt mean it doesnt work any better than efi?

              scince were goin down that route, ask preeny about his 16v on carbies....may not make power because of an old fuel system?

                i know there are good and bad points about both, i like reading the mass durbate in pvw.

                i never said it wont work tho building a sweet turbo motor i would just go efi but thats me,

                as for carbie they are only good to keep the engine bay clean.

                  and BTW, its k-jet... there are no BMC intakes, samco hose kits, i have a fuel distributor and and airbox that runs off it, i have cams, i have intake work, my engine has shiny and detailed bits........

                  and another thing, there will be not one part of the k-jet gear will be vw........

                  try porsche turbo, UR quattro, volvo turbo and saab turbo....

                  im not just slapping a turbo on a standard fueled 16v......

                    K jet is not used these days because it is bulky and not as fuel efficient as some of the more advanced full electronic systems today. No other reason.

                    Same with carbies, nothing wrong with them, but they aren't as fuel efficient as EFI..
