now............. what to do with myself and the wabit????
If your not in a rush i rekon the best results will come from doing it yourself. Panel beating isnt rocket surgery and you cant trust anyone to do a good job.
But tis yo money playa
i cant do it because i crushed my hand, id love to prep the car but i physically cant
well i cant move it much and they said ill be off work easily 6months
they are also unsure if ill be able to move it well again.... and for those playing at home, its my right hand too witch is a bit of a bummer
How mint are you talking Dom, zero orange peel will cost you mate.
To get it absolutely flawless, it will need to go bare metal, once the colour is on and then the clear coat, to get zero peel it will have to be wetsanded back, then coated again, then possibly the same proccess again, then wetsanded, then cut and polish.
Its alot of man hours. I had to compromise with mine and live with a bit of peel, its only detectable in some lights, and being black i reckon it the worse colour for showing it!!
Yours being white will be alot less noticable.
I wish there was an equivalant to Greg Howell or Steve Denton in Australia, i hate trusting people with things like this !!

You dont have to go bare matal for no orange peal. Once the paint is on you sand it back with 1800 then 2000 then appy clear and do the same.
Black paint is the worst, it doesnt show up so much on white. You can also reduce orange peal if the spray painter knows what hes doing.
The paint underneath the new paint expands and contracts at a different rate to the new paint, something along those lines anyway.... It moves the new paint, causes slight ripples and imperfections.
Like i said, this is only in some lights, and you have to look very closely to pick it. Someone who paints cars for a living would no if it a bare metal respray or not.
