            • How mint are you talking Dom, zero orange peel will cost you mate.

To get it absolutely flawless, it will need to go bare metal, once the colour is on and then the clear coat, to get zero peel it will have to be wetsanded back, then coated again, then possibly the same proccess again, then wetsanded, then cut and polish.

Its alot of man hours. I had to compromise with mine and live with a bit of peel, its only detectable in some lights, and being black i reckon it the worse colour for showing it!!

Yours being white will be alot less noticable.

I wish there was an equivalant to Greg Howell or Steve Denton in Australia, i hate trusting people with things like this !!

If i were you, i'd give Final Inspection a call and ask to speak to Damian, and ask him if he can recommend someyone, or ask on the detail forum.

You dont have to go bare matal for no orange peal. Once the paint is on you sand it back with 1800 then 2000 then appy clear and do the same.

Black paint is the worst, it doesnt show up so much on white. You can also reduce orange peal if the spray painter knows what hes doing.

                        • True - you don't have to go bare metal for no peel. If the clear coat is thick enough it can also be wetsanded back to lose peel.

But you'll always notice in some lights the pulling of the other paint underneath the new coat, depends how fussy you are.

How can you see it under the primer?

                            • The paint underneath the new paint expands and contracts at a different rate to the new paint, something along those lines anyway.... It moves the new paint, causes slight ripples and imperfections.

Like i said, this is only in some lights, and you have to look very closely to pick it. Someone who paints cars for a living would no if it a bare metal respray or not.
