basically ready for a RWC now, need to bleed brakes when i can get a helping hand. and source a interior light.

Quick snap for fun. Contemplating selling it soon, either registered or not...

          not much has happened lately,
Got the engine mount replaced and timing done. Just needs a good run.
Small oil leak from rocker cover, good excuse to go a rubber gasket.

          Looks like this atm

Finding myself playing with this more

Get back to the Golf Dan....
I only sell them to you so they get on the road! LOL
I've had what... 12, and of those 12 I've sold you a few... What I have left are either in parts, half parted or sitting waiting for the attention you give them, that they deserve!

You are doing a great job! Win Tattslotto, and keep the sucker... Black rims with those plastic GTi flares! You know you want to...

And to clarify in the first post.... I bought it with plans, then got talked into including it in a deal, then they did a reverse deal including it, which I had decided I had enough sitting around at the time, and this would simply get worse...

So glad you took up the small/minor challenge Dan, otherwise she'd be sitting on the front lawn still!
            Too many dubs to mention....

Thanks mate, Appreciate the Kind Words

To be honest, most of it was cleaning, took 3 washes to get it cleaned, then again im picky, so i was cleaning anything i could reach lol.
I reckon this be the last Mk1, not unless your doing something with the Auto 2 door

Thinking a Mk2 might be something to look into later on.

So a little has happened lately,

Got some welding done, some rust fixed on floor. Gearbox oil changed and brakes bleed.

Only issue im having atm is timing the damn thing,
Im setting the crank at TDC via the flywheel, im using the DOT as tdc, and the pencil in the cylinder 1 plug trick
Next im setting the cam via the dot on the INSIDE of the cam wheel and lining it with the top of the cylinder head.and making sure the cam lobes are doing the "bunny ears"
put belt on, tension it, turn it my hand a few times then check to see if the marks line back up.
Next i put the Dizzy back in, i try to put it in with the notch facing the block, or 12 O'clock while looking at it.
Which ever way the rotor button faces is Spark plead #1, follow clock wise 1 3 4 2.

It fires up but sounds like a 2 cylinder on crack, the dizzy needs huge amounts of adjustments to make the idle barely move.
Advancing the timing on the dizzy, do i turn it clockwise or anti? i usually do it the way in which it increases the idle and smoothness.

Ive redone this process atleast 5 times this arvo and no change, im at a loss as to what to do.
I currently dont have the alternator on, would this affect it? please say no, other wise im going to facepalm the keayboard.
