  • Its a Disease... a big red one

    So it happened again,

Basically found this, dude got it in a deal, dude did not want, and i got it.

Mars red, 120k on the clock (apparently)
shiny as farrrk and not even polished or washed since i got it.
Engine was tierd so the one from other red golf is in it now.
    Copper radiator
    rebuilt 1600
    clean interior
    redone dash
stock everything else, and a tow bar

    Bad points,
wiring was a mess, switch on dash to turn reverse lights on, headlights relayed with speaker wire... bad bad bad
drivers rear wheel is hard to turn, think handbrake is seized on.

Anyway this will be the new one to fix and drive as its not far from it. was all complete and running when i got it minus wiring being shotty.

Plans are to get running over this weekend, go over everything and make sure itll pass a RWC.
chuck my coils in and drive.... slowly

No idea on the wheels, all i know is they not part of the deal and he wont part with them for a ridiculous price lol

hahah 3 golfs? nah ive had 7 LMAO!!!

As for wheels for now im not sure, got some but ugly ones i may use, would love to use the hotwires but the rears are too "hellaflushhokeypokey" to fit in standard guards.

got front coils in, wound them up ready for a RWC, think its still a little low.
got rear bumper on, parcelshelf in. Some seatbelts in.

Still need to tighten engine mounts, adjust gear links, seatbelts, clips to hold rear seat in. test out the wiring and get engine running.
                      In no rush,

                        and its ALIVE!

need to adjust timing and mixture a tad, but it holds idle well, start pretty quick.
Has a small oil leak somewhere, will hunt that down asap.

Will get a vid up once ive tightened up exhaust and stuff. sounds like a tractor

Main focus is fixing all the bugs and getting it going.

Found a Coolant leak at back of head, one at the waterpump.

so its about 95% complete and ready for rego,

needs brakes bleed, interior light. raise the rear a tad, flush cooling system and put coolant in.
Couple pics of progress, and one of a unwanted intruder when heater fan turned on!!
